Our necklaces are thoughtfully crafted to be delicate and beautiful, which means they require special care to maintain their longevity. Here are some guidelines on how to care for your necklace:

Wearing Your Necklace

  • Wear It Last, Remove It First: To minimize exposure to creams, oils, cosmetics, and hairspray, always put on your necklace after getting ready and take it off first when you're done.
  • Keep It Dry: Avoid wearing your necklace in water, including swimming, showering, or washing dishes. Water can diminish the necklace’s lustre and lead to deterioration over time.
  • Avoid Sweat: Vermeil jewelry is sensitive to body acids, so it's best to avoid wearing your necklace during intense exercise or activities that cause excessive sweating.
  • Store with Care: Since necklaces can easily get scratched, store them separately from other jewelry. Use a soft pouch or a jewelry box with separate compartments to protect them from dust, sunlight, and potential damage.

Cleaning Your Necklace

  • Wipe After Wearing: After each wear, gently wipe your necklace with a soft cloth to remove body oils or residue.
  • Gentle Cleaning: Clean your necklace using a small amount of mild soap mixed with warm water. Harsh detergents or chemicals should be avoided as they can damage the plating.
  • Dry Properly: After cleaning, dry your necklace with a soft cloth and lay it flat on a towel to air dry. Avoid using ultrasonic cleaners, as these can harm the plating and potentially cause cracking.

Please note that necklaces that are worn or cared for improperly are not covered under the Canoa warranty.
